Simple man
Born at the New York Woodstock Music Festival in the summer of 1969, music has fed the appetite of young people for generations since. Growing up in a time when all types of good music was coming out, Hippy took it all in his Head. Everything from Rhythm & Blues to Heavy Metal, Country to Rap, and Classic Rock to Jazz.

The guy locally known as Hippyhead wandered into the Louisville music scene as a songwriting guitarist and performer. Performing at open mics and eventually on smaller shows throughout the city. Later he became a member of the HSAOK where he was given the opportunity to share the stage with many talented musicians. He enjoyed performing outdoor festivals and made many musician friendships. All while listening and learning as he wondered why not a bigger scene for these artists.

He always enjoyed hanging out with other musicians and artists and in fact, most of the world’s unsolved problems had their solutions solved in these circles, LOL. It was in one particular talk, Hippy realized what he could do to help with the local music scene. Set up shows with all generes of local bands and so began Hippyhead Showcase in the Fall of 2008.
